scaling in oil and gas assets

common corrosion products

sample/preparation


in this experiment, langsheng company’s ying shine portable x-ray diffraction (xrd) analyzer was used to detect and analyze the corrosion/scale layer in the bottom pipe of a water tank, and several samples of corrosion products in the bottom pipe of the water tank were collected on site. dry the sample of the corrosion layer in the block pipe in an oven at 120 degrees celsius for 2 hours. use the pocket sample box provided by langsheng to prepare a powder sample smaller than 100um. put the sample into the sample compartment for detection and obtain the sample diffraction pattern. use crystalx analysis software to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the components of the diffraction pattern.
